Laila Woodward – Hidden Blue EP is released on Sleepy Town Records April 5th 2024.
I am a hypnotic Folk artist based in Pontardawe, South Wales, I have a passion for song writing and expressing deeper meanings and stories in my lyrics that listeners can interpret in a way that allows them to feel connected to my music.
I love to intertwine the folk style with haunting melodies to create a hypnotic, ambient feeling to my music. I often find my inspiration through nature, going for long walks on the beach, listening to the waves really evokes a sense of calm in me and which gives me new ideas for lyrics.
I am a people watcher, inspiration for new songs often comes from the complex and interesting characters that I see every day.
I have performed at the Youth Music Awards at Brangwyn Hall, Swansea, Pride at The Waterfront Museum, Pontardawe Arts Centre, Elysium and numerous local festivals.
I have supported Adwaith, Sarah Mcquaid, Destert Life, Dark and Twisties, Rona Mac, The Climbing Trees and The Shires.
I have been part of Future Blood youth music project for three years at Pontardawe Arts Centre.
I have composed music for an animated film, recorded vocals on a recent Dicky Continental album for Universal Music and most recently recorded my first EP, produced by Rich Thair from Red Snapper/Dicky Continental/Number.
